As part of the UK Newton Fund, the Leaders in Innovation Fellowships programme (LIF) is being delivered by the Royal Academy of Engineering with the industrial Research and Development Fund (iR&DF) as the in-country partner. The Leaders in Innovation Fellowships Programme brings together future leaders in the global innovation community, providing them with access to high-quality commercialization skills training, a network of peers in Jordan, the United Kingdom and around the world, and a rich and varied experience that benefits their innovations in the immediate and long term.
Industrial Research and Development Fund strives to encourage Jordanian industries to support research and development and to benefit from the thereof to flourish the local economic system. Leaders in Innovation Fellowships is one of the programmes that supports iR&DF vision in bridging the gap between academic institutions, scientific researchers and industry and linking them together by applying entrepreneurial approaches to improve productivity and thus improve competitiveness which leads to economic growth.
The LIF programme is a year-long package of customized assistance, including:

• Expert mentoring
• Support and assistance at the home institution
· In-country and regional events
The training is highly customized to the particular expectations and challenges of each individual, as well as addressing business concepts such as business modeling, marketing and sales, leadership, value proposition and finance. Participants benefit from mentoring and support from experts, as well as membership in a vibrant community of LIF alumni.
