Turning your pre-existing home into a smart home
If I come today and say to you that someone called Yousef has finished his shower and left the water draining for hours, you might get enough amount of anger to punch this irresponsible person straight in the face without giving it a second thought. The problem I am trying to solve is that almost every one of us acts like Yousef when it comes to electricity. Standby devices around the world, alone, consume what is equivalent to the electrical consumption of the whole country of Italy per year. Here in Jordan, people have one and only clue about their power consumption each month, which is the electricity bill. With the increasing dependency on electricity, facilities from all categories are facing a huge problem in monitoring and handling electrical consumption in an accurate and modular way. The lack of electrical consumption details and monitoring applications increased the rate of inefficient power usage and prevented facility owners from optimizing their electricity bills. This problem is directly seen in the residential sector, where -based on a survey conducted- most people are not satisfied with the electricity bill amount and/or not satisfied with the clarity of the electricity consumption bill. What ATMATA offers is the ability to bridge this information gap that is currently present, with real-time detailed insights of the electricity consumption on the facility and the ability to control unwanted power usage, this will lead to clear electricity bills and will enable facility owners to take actions on reducing these bills.
ATMATA will start with providing integrated circuit boards to AC assemblers in order to transfer their traditional products into smart ones, these circuit boards will enable the end-user to monitor the electricity consumption of the device as well as controlling it. In addition to the integrated circuit boards that are meant to be installed in the assembly process, ATMATA plans to offer plug-and-play monitoring devices that can be used on any facility appliance to monitor its electrical consumption as well as control it when needed. All these features will be integrated into a mobile application that will be available for all ATMATA users and will include features such as, real-time monitoring, scheduled reports, controlling actions, and suggestions on how to optimized electricity consumption and reduce carbon footprint.
Upgrading the efficiency of energy systems
As mentioned above there are a wide variety of solutions in the Jordanian market in the Home Automation sector. For us, we are offering what our Niche market requires. In simple words, they need to know where exactly their electrical bills are spent. To know the consumption of a device in the last hour, minute, second, or week. To position ourselves in this competitive market, we are depending on two different metrics as follows: Variety-based Positioning and Access-based Positioning.
ATMATA’s end users are the house owners that are facing a problem with their electricity bills either if they think it is vague or it is high. To reach the targeted end-user, ATMATA plans to mobilize local AC assemblers and integrate its products to theirs, this approach will ensure maximum exposure and will directly target end-users that need to monitor their appliances' electricity usage.
