Biography

Dr. Almoayied Assayed has 20 years’ experience in Water and Environment sector. He has been leading an array of water and wastewater projects with special focus on water resilience; water, food and energy nexus; Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM); water and climate change; and water governance. He has developed innovative decentralized systems to manage wastewater in urban areas. He has developed an innovative method for greywater treatment called: Drawer Compacted Filter (DCF). Dr. Assayed is currently the Manager of Water Studies at the RSS and has a PhD in Environment and Sustainability from the University of Surrey/UK since 2014.

2017: Research Fellow, Environmental Engineering Department, SLU, Sweden –Uppsala. The research focused on waste management, nitrification and de-nitrification in wastewater systems. 2014: Ph.D. Environmental Engineering from the University of Surrey in Guildford at the United Kingdom. The Ph.D. examined new design for onsite/decentralized wastewater treatment called “Drawer Cabinet Filter”. 2003: MSc., from the Dept. of Environmental Science and Management, University of Jordan. The research examined Rotating Biological Contractor (RBC) and Trickling Filters (TF) for greywater treatment in dormitories. 2000: BA, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, University of Jordan
